Understanding Women's Health Somatically
Women’s health conditions are so often treated in isolation, the physical managed by one specialist, the emotional left unaddressed entirely. But the body and the mind are not separate. Chronic pain, hormonal shifts, fertility challenges, and reproductive health experiences all live in the nervous system, in the identity, and in the heart, not just in the body.
Therapy offers a space to tend to the whole of your experience, the grief, the anger, the exhaustion, the pain, the parts of yourself that have had to go quiet just to get through it.
"The body is a multilingual being. It speaks through its colour and its temperature, the flush of recognition, the glow of love, the ash of pain, the heat of rage, the ice of grief."
Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves
SOULFUL THERAPY
What is Women's Health Therapy?
Women’s health therapy recognizes that conditions like endometriosis, PCOS / PMOS, pelvic floor dysfunction, fertility challenges, and the hormonal transitions of perimenopause and menopause carry a profound emotional and psychological dimension that medicine alone cannot reach.
Many women arrive in therapy having spent years focused on managing their physical symptoms, the appointments, the treatments, the diagnoses, with little space to process what all of it has meant for their sense of self, their relationships, and their inner life, or to reflect on emotional roots of the imbalance. This is that space.
If you are experiencing:
- Chronic pelvic pain, painful intercourse, or vaginismus and its impact on your identity and relationships
- The emotional toll of an endometriosis or PCOS / PMOS diagnosis
- Grief and exhaustion from a fertility journey that has not gone the way you hoped
- Pregnancy loss and the isolation of mourning something others may not always recognize as loss
- Anxiety, depression, or identity shifts connected to perimenopause or menopause
- Disconnection from your body after years of pain, medical appointments, or feeling dismissed
- The impact of a medical diagnosis, surgery, or procedure that left emotional residue
- Body shame or a complicated relationship with your physical self
- Sexual health and intimacy challenges connected to pain, hormonal shifts, or life transitions
- The experience of feeling unseen or misunderstood by the healthcare system
Soulful Therapy can help you feel understood, supported, and more at home in yourself.
SOULFUL THERAPY
How Can Women's Health Therapy Help?
Nervous System Regulation
Learn to recognize when your system is activated by pain, fear, or grief, and develop tools to find steadiness in your body and in your life.
Fertility & Pregnancy Loss
Hold space for the emotional weight of reproductive treatments, pregnancy loss, and infant death in a way that honours the depth of that experience.
Birth Trauma & Grief
Hold space for birth experiences that felt frightening or out of your control, and for losses that may not always be recognized by others.
Hormonal Transitions
Explore the identity shifts, mood changes, and emotional complexity that come with perimenopause and menopause, with curiosity rather than judgment.
Body Reconnection
Gently rebuild a relationship with your body that is not defined by pain, diagnosis, or what it can or cannot do.
Medical Trauma Support
Process the experience of feeling dismissed, misdiagnosed, or unsupported within the healthcare system, because that experience matters too.
We move at a pace that honours your energy and your history. This is not about pushing through or thinking positively. It is about being genuinely met in what you are carrying.
